Borettane onions preserved in Balsamic vinegar for a beautiful blend of sweetness and acidity.
The Borettane is a mild, sweet Italian pearl onion that's flat, almost saucer-like in shape.
They're harvested, then washed, peeled and quickly blanched, before being stored in Balsamic vinegar IGP to imbue it's sweetly acidic flavour into the onion until it takes on a softer texture.
Serve sliced in salads or as a show-stopping antipasto.
Please note the 400g vacuum packs come as a 'dry mix' (i.e. without brine) and need to be consumed within two weeks of ordering.
