Spiced Tahini Butter
The smooth, nutty flavour of Tahini complements the richness of the butter, and the dates and cinnamon bring a spiced, sweetness to the butter.
5 Medjool dates, stones removed and roughly chopped
175g unsalted butter, softened
¼tsp ground cinnamon
Hot cross buns to serve
- Place the dates in a small bowl and pour boiling water over until just covered. Leave to soak for ten minutes. Drain the water off, then chop the dates vigorously until a coarse paste is formed.
- Place the softened butter, dates, Tahini and cinnamon in a bowl and whip together with a small whisk. If the mix gets too soft, place in the fridge to firm up. Take it out of the fridge prior to using to allow it to soften up.
- Spread liberally over toasted hot cross buns and enjoy!
