Since 2012, the Belazu Foundation has supported the Iffley Academy, a community special academy for children and young people up to the age of 18 with complex educational needs and disabilities. Every year, the Belazu Foundation organises an Iffley Fun Day, run by Belazu volunteers and Iffley staff. The day is an opportunity for the students to enjoy fun activities in a safe environment and for parents to meet other families. In 2014 Belazu staff also helped design and build an educational kitchen.
This year, 25 Belazu volunteers gave more than 300 Iffley Academy students and their parents a fantastic day. In total, they helped the children make 180 pizzas, over 200 smoothies, and managed outdoor activities such as ball in the bucket, giant slides, and an obstacle run.
“I just wanted to say a huge thank you from us all at Iffley for such a fabulous day on Saturday. It went really smoothly and the feedback from children and their families, as well as Iffley staff was extremely positive. It is really special to be able to offer such a fantastic day for families to enjoy together and we wouldn’t be able to do this without your support.” Ellie, School Business Manager
