In the last 25 years, our quest has taken us over the Mediterranean basin – and we’re still hungry to find more.

The Fresh Olive Company started with two best friends, George and Adam, and 10 buckets of Provencal olives on a ferry. We went on to forge a decent reputation in the food service industry, supplying an illustrious customer base including many Michelin-star restaurants.

We stopped calling ourselves the Fresh Olive Company because our relentless search for ingredients has revealed so much more than olives and olive oil. Now trading as The Belazu Ingredient Company, we offer a wide variety of innovative and traditional antipasti, grains, pastes and vinegars too.

Supplying restaurants and chefs is the heart of what we do

Foodservice is where it all started.  We are very proud of our enviable customer base which includes hotels such as The Dorchester, The Savoy, The Ritz, Claridges, and The Connaught and food halls including Harrods, Selfridges, and Fortnum and Mason.  It is this core business which we have been constantly innovating for over the last 25 years.

Our fleet of vans are out every day, delivering all over the South East and the Midlands. Charlie’s sales team provide an open window on the world of the professional chefs, gaining welcome feedback that sparks ideas and enables us to constantly improve our in-house product range. It is these close relationships with trade that provide our muse and inspiration (and in part is the reason for the amount of successful innovation, it helps getting ‘what’s hot’ tips from the top!).

Delicious, nutritious olives and oils

Sometimes we are sourcing a better version of a staple, like our single estate Early Harvest Olive Oil made by the Pons family in a mill in the heart of their Arbequina olive groves. Others we could be injecting extra depth of flavour into a classic product, for example, the olive tapenades we make ourselves. Either way, our mantra is always to respect and add value to ingredients.

That’s what our reputation is built on (and an obsessive attention to delivering excellent customer service).

We began by supplying independent restaurants and delis, but over time, through word of mouth and recommendations, our customer base grew considerably. Today, we supply a wide variety of sectors within the food industry, from top restaurants to the UKs largest food manufacturer.
