Delia used Belazu to cheat in her new book "How to cheat at cooking" where she used our fantastic Preserved Lemons. See her "Moroccan chicken with preserved lemons & chickpeas" page 123 of her book.

Belazu has achieved a UK first with the introduction of two solid Extra Virgin Olive Oil products.
"Belazu Premier Choix Spreadable Oil" is made from our liquid Premier Choix Extra Virgin Olive Oil and offers all the practical and culinary versatility of butter, but with all the health benefits associated with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
"Belazu Premier Choix Spreadable Oil" comes in two varieties – Original and Basil flavoured and is a special blend of over 87% first cold pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oils, making it the best quality "spread" on the market.
You can find it in the chiller cabinet only in Sainsbury's stores, next to Speciality Butters. Price is £1.99 for 100g
Look out for our Barley Couscous promotion – every pack sold helps fund schooling for kids in rural Morocco communities. Coming soon.
The Belazu School in Morocco – Update
We first sponsored a school in August 2003 near Essaouira, south-western Morocco and this represented a three year commitment to support the region from which we source some of our products.
Now in 2007, we are opening a second school in the Imin Tlit Commune where we have 51 children registered to receive schooling 6 days a week.
Education is key to the future development of Morocco - 50% of the population is illiterate and truancy from rural schools is high. There are approximately 2 million illiterate children and roughly 75% of that figure are girls. This is why we are delighted that 37 of our 51 pupils are girls. This is our chance to provide an education to those who are least likely to have one, otherwise.
At our school, pupils are aged between 8 and 16 and are taught reading, writing and maths, as well as an awareness of health and hygiene issues.
The schooling we provide is totally free to pupils and we fund all equipment, furniture and materials. Teachers are chosen from within the community and they encourage the involvement of parents in the children's education.
We hope that by working with the locally-based Zakoura foundation, we can put a little back unto the community we work with - in a way which is feasible for both the children and their parents. The hours of school allow reasonable time for the children’s contribution to family chores, whilst still allowing them the opportunity to be educated.
It is no secret that many top chefs use our Balsamic vinegar and have done so for many years.
Raymond Blanc has long been one of our more famous fans and he has come up
with this fabulous endorsement for our vinegar:
"Belazu's Balsamic vinegar is a must have ingredient in any kitchen, we wouldn't be without it at Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons"
Thank you Raymond!
