Our range of olive oils would not be complete without a classic olive oil from Italy.

This beautifully packaged oil is a cold pressed, unfiltered extra virgin olive oil that’s made from Taggiasca olives. These small purple olives grow on the rugged coastal hillsides of Liguria in northwest Italy – the home of the famous pesto.

The olives are harvested by hand between November and January. They come from a variety of small local suppliers in the Roya, Nervia and Imperia valleys and are taken to a mill in Ventimiglia, where they are ground to make the oil.

Our Ligurian oil is presented in a tall, dark glass bottle, to preserve the light, soft and sweet flavours. It has a hint of pepper on the finish.

COOKING AND SERVING TIPS

Ideal for fish, salads, pasta
  • Ideal for making your own pesto. Mix a large handful of basil leaves, with 2 cloves of garlic, 3 tbsps of pine nuts, 3 tbsps Parmesan cheese and a pinch of salt in a food processor. Whizz together to make a paste. Add Belazu Ligurian Taggiasca Extra Virgin Olive Oil until it’s the desired consistency and serve with freshly cooked pasta.
  • Delicious on grilled fish as the oil does not dominate the delicate flavour.
